This
page will address the concert
business story and the affects on society in America.
I
was fortunate to travel to Hollywood, California with some friends of mine who
were in a band called KIX.
Our first concert was at the Troubadour on
Melrose near West Hollywood in November 1985 with Guns n Roses.
My job with KIX came as a result from
promoting concerts in south central Pennsylvania for Charlie Starr.
CSTARR a fictitious name Ted Groft concocted
earlier in life when he ordered a case of Black Velvet from Piper’s in Maryland
and I was nominated to pick it up.
Charlie Starr has been a part of my life since then.
I always wanted to be a rock star promoter. I don’t know how to play guitar or sing. So I promoted. And I did a damn good job!

I miss the concert business tremendously, the women were wild and fun, and I miss that the most. My mom would say, "Are you going out with the Rock and Roll People Tonight?"...
